West Berkshire Bike Service has a Cytech Master Technician mechanic that is able to take on almost any mechanical service work. The following sets out our standard servicing charges – if you have any questions please ask by calling on 07966 165646 or drop us an email to rjmarks26@hotmail.com
With all our services we will keep you fully informed of any charges beyond the agreed service package. For example, should a part need replacing that wasn’t known when the bike was booked in, we will not proceed until we have your permission. For this reason we will ask for a contact number when booking the bike in.
Our services are categorised and priced as follows, and are aimed at Road, Hybrid and Triathlon bikes.
Basic Service – £40.00
- This is a basic service, recommended for bikes with relatively low usage or as a pre-event check (when we are allowed!).
- General safety check covering major operating components of the bike
- Brakes checked and adjusted. (New pads fitted if required)
- Gears correctly indexed and adjusted.
Standard Service – £70.00
- This is a comprehensive service. We advise a service of this nature once or twice a year – perhaps interspersed with a Full service and a Basic Service, depending on the bike’s usage level:
- Wheel rims checked for damage and wear, then trued radially and laterally. Wheel bearings checked for free movement and adjusted (if applicable)
- Tyres checked and inflated to the correct pressure (Replaced if required)
- Brakes checked and adjusted. (New pads fitted if required)
- Drivetrain: All de-greased, cleaned and refitted or replaced if required
- Bottom Bracket, Cranks, Headset, Handlebars and Stem inspected and tightened to the appropriate torque settings.
Full Service – from £130.00
We recommend this service every 12 to 18 months depending on the bike’s use and the conditions in which it is ridden. This service includes a full strip down to frame and forks with careful inspection of all components. The service includes everything in the Basic and Standard Service plan plus.
- Frame and Forks: Frame stripped and inspected for alignment and damage. Threads cleaned and checked.
- Wheels: Hubs disassembled, cleaned, inspected, greased and reassembled. All other components removed, checked for wear, cleaned and re-lubricated.
- Drive system removed including pedals, chainset, bottom bracket, chain, cassette and both derailleurs. All de-greased, cleaned and refitted or replaced if necessary.
For all service types we will provide a written report on the work performed and any concerning elements discovered
