Mountain Bike Services

West Berkshire Bike Service has a Cytech Master Technician mechanic that is able to take on almost any mechanical service work. The following sets out our standard servicing charges – if you have any questions please ask by calling on 07966 165646 or drop us an email to rjmarks26@hotmail.com

With all our services, we will keep you fully informed of any charges beyond the agreed service package. For example, should a part need replacing that wasn’t known when the bike was booked in, we will not proceed until we have your permission. For this reason we will ask for a contact number when booking the bike in. Services are categorised and priced as follows, and are aimed at Mountain Bikes.

Bearing (s) in Mind

Your bike has bearings inside your frame pivots, headset, bottom bracket and wheels, a lot of which are now sealed bearings that can be replaced when the grease is gone and the rust has moved in. You can save yourself a lot of money and grief further down the line by simply changing the bearings in your headset (Mostly the lower one) and bottom bracket.

Not all bottom brackets and headsets have replaceable bearings, but if yours doesn’t we will recommend one to replace it with. If you want your bike to perform and feel like the day it was new, bearings are the place to start. Your shock could be brand new but if your frame bearings are dry or are seized , the suspension will not work correctly.

  • Frame bearings remove and re-install: £6 per bearing, multiple pivots at a discount
  • Headset bearing remove and re-install: £15
  • Bottom Bracket Bearing removal and installation: £20
  • Wheel bearing extraction and install:-
  • Front Hub: £10
  • Rear hub: £20

For all service types we will provide a written report on the work performed and any concerning elements discovered
